The World's Healthiest Foods: Health Story
Aired on Lifetime Television for WomenSunday, July 30 and November 19, 2006
Show 320
Walking through the farmer's market in Seattle is like a trip down a vitamin aisle. Why? "Because most fruits and vegetables are nutrient rich, but low in calories," says Stephanie Gailing, nutrition consultant for the World's Healthiest Foods, a nonprofit website. The website ranks foods by vitamins and nutrients. Of all the world's healthiest foods, Swiss chard is the most nutrient rich. Foods ranked have to be familiar and accessible year round – and taste good! Not only does this website steer you through a maze of what's good for you, but the site also has over 100 recipes, most taking less than 15 minutes to prepare. Organic food is best, but not necessary. And don't worry meat lovers – this is not a vegetarian site.
