"Get fit because you're worth it. Nothing makes you feel better than a good workout," says Denise Austin, exercise guru who has sold more than 20 million motivational videos and DVDs in the last 25 years. "Thirty minutes a day is all that you need and consistency pays off. Start small with 10 minutes and find a buddy. A buddy makes it more fun to keep a routine. Good nutrition is also important. Exercise and nutrition go hand-in-hand," she says. After the 6-month milestone, it's easier to make exercise permanent. Morning exercise awakens the metabolism and kick-starts the day. "A workout is a mental filter. It filters out the stress," says Denise. "With reduced stress, I have more energy," says Mary Beth Dyson, wife, mother and a Denise Austin convert.
