Show 403
Kids Reporter Gabby Marx:
My back and my neck always hurt after I put my backpack on. Dr. Lisa, is there anything I can do to make it go away?
Health Corner Co-Host Dr. Lisa Thornton:
The reason that a lot of kids have problems with backpacks is because they're too heavy. They put too much stuff in them. A heavy backpack can cause back pain, neck pain and problems with posture. To avoid injury, backpacks should be worn close up against the body, and use the straps around the waist to help distribute the weight. And most of all, don't pack them too full! Take only what you need to class, and keep the rest of your things in your locker or at home.
