"Portion control is about eating a variety of foods, and about getting the daily nutrition you need. It's not just about weight management," says Arlene Sanoy, RD, a nutritionist with Kraft Foods. "How do we manage portion size?" asks Dr. Lisa. "Portion size is a little bit different for everyone depending on age and body type. You don't need to measure everything. You can use your hand as a guide. One cup is equal to two cupped hands. A half cup is one cupped hand. And lots of snacks come packaged as single servings. But basically, the right portion is in your hands," says Arlene.
