"Comedy has served me well when I have met speed bumps in the road," says actress Teri Garr who received an Academy Award nomination for her role in the movie, "Tootsie." Teri suffers from multiple sclerosis. "It took a long time to get a diagnosis because my symptoms like tingling would come and go," she says. Nearly 400,000 Americans have MS. "But I have been able to slow the progression of this disease by taking injectable interferon. Rebif has really helped me," she says. "Life changes. You just have to adjust." Teri now spends her time getting the word out about MS. "I'm giving this disease a run for its money and helping others on the way," she says.

Special Note: In December 2006, Teri had surgery to repair a brain aneurysm. Everyone at Health Corner wishes her a speedy recovery.
