"In 2003, one in three women died of heart disease. In 2004, only one in four women died of heart disease. That's a decrease of 17,000 deaths," says Dr. Elizabeth Nabel. It's great news for women every where, but one very important number has not changed. Heart disease is still the number one killer of women. And to remind women about their risk, raising awareness is essential. The Heart Truth campaign's Red Dress event at New York's Fashion Week is doing just that-- bringing celebrities and designers together for a very red, one-of-a-kind, runway show. "It's a great cause. It reminds women to care about their insides as much as what they wear on their outsides," says Rachael Ray, host of the Rachael Ray daily talk show.
