Michaela Powell:
It never fails, the bigger the event, the bigger the breakout. From important tests to picture day or the high school dance—if it's a big event, then I'm getting a zit. And all I want to do is pop it. Help, Dr. Lisa!
Dr. Lisa Thornton:
I know, Michaela, isn't that the worst? They always seem to pop up when you're most stressed and when you least want them. And then your initial reaction is to want to pop them. I know it sounds yucky and it could be so tempting, but don't do it. Because popping them can cause them to get a little infected and then you get a scar. And you don't want these things to scar; you want them to go away. So the best way to get your pimples to go away is to use a gentle facial cleanser. Find one that works for you and wash your face twice a day to keep the pimples at bay. And remember, no popping zits!
