Objectively measuring physical fitness, say it's something like boxing, can be pretty challenging. And that's why Dr. Ken Cooper developed what is known as the aerobic point system. Based on the duration and the type of exercise performed, a point value is assigned. The goal is 120 points a month. An hour of singles tennis is worth four points. Walking three and a half miles in an hour is worth six. But if you can ride your bike 10 miles in just under 30 minutes, that's worth over 18 points. Most of us just don't get enough aerobic exercise. Things like yoga and yes, even golf, are excellent activities. But it's important to really get your heart pumping for at least 30 minutes every day. And there are all sorts of ways to get 120 aerobic points in a month.
