Aired on Lifetime Television
Sunday, May 6 and June 17, 2007
Show 412
Caring for a child with disabilities can be challenging, but the precious moments you share are greater than words can describe. For many years Ana's disabled daughter Louise went to a special school, but the last five years she went to a regular high school where she was able to graduate when she was 22 years old. "It was a beautiful, beautiful experience, sitting in her wheelchair with her cap and gown and getting her diploma from the hands of the principal. It was a beautiful, beautiful moment. Our hearts were totally expanded within our chests because it was beautiful," says Ana. Louise and Ana have worked with Leeza's Place and Dr. Jamie Huysman says their story is, "An incredible inspiration to the people who attend that program. You see Ana has no expectations. Ana's not fraught with worries, intentions and stress of what will be or what should be."
