"Tell me about your cancer journey. You were only 45 years old and never smoked," says Dr. Lisa. "I went for a routine check up and they found a huge mass in my lungs. It was cancer," says Paul Decker, speaker, trainer, consultant and board member of the American Cancer Society. "You're an optimistic guy. Your wife calls you "Polly Andy," says Dr. Lisa. "I live each day, one day at a time. I knew I wanted to rebuild my life. I knew I could make it through this even though the odds weren't good," says Paul. "How has your life changed?" asks Dr. Lisa. "I wake up and ask what can I do for others? The Cancer Society has a bracelet that says CELEBRATE HOPE. The rate of cancer is up, but less people are dying from cancer," says Paul. "What would you tell someone with the odds stacked against them?" asks Dr. Lisa. "Know yourself, what gives you joy. Look at life as the privilege it is. Every day is a great day and you can make it that way," says Paul.
