African-Americans are two times more likely to die from heart disease. But according to researcher Dr. Clyde Yancy at the University of Texas, "A remarkable new drug called BiDil has brought new hope to African-Americans who suffer heart failure." Heart failure is a debilitating cardiovascular illness. Mayo Clinic cardiologist Dr. Anne Taylor says, "With BiDil, there is a 43% reduction in mortality, a 37% reduction in heart failure and hospitalization, and a significant improvement in the quality of life."
