People with Alzheimer's are not the only ones affected by memory loss. Their loved ones may never get to hear stories about funny or touching moments in their lives again. Lauretta is a care giver for her 80-year-old husband who has Alzheimer's. She decided to preserve those important memories by participating in a program called Leeza's Memory TV. "I decided to do Leeza's Memory TV because I wanted my children to have a tape of their father before he forgets who they are. He has stories to tell from his past that the children will not remember if he doesn't say it now. Later on when we play this tape, I think they'll be glad to see their father more or less as he was," says Lauretta. Dr. Jamie Huysman says, "It takes about five sessions, and the first two are about script writing. The questions you always wanted to ask your loved one. And finally, of course, we shoot it. And then we give them this edited copy forever and ever to have in their family."
