Everyone needs words of encouragement from time to time. But what do you do when no one seems to notice how hard you're working, or no one tells you what a great job you're doing? Leeza's Place designed a program to do just that. It's called Picture Yourself. The first step is to write a few words of affirmation about yourself. "Once I started to write, it just flowed," says Estelle, a care giver who created a Picture This video. Then the care givers are video taped as they read their scripts, making a recording that can be played any time they need a little boost. Care giver Oneatha says, "In my life, I haven't had people to step up and say you've done really good." That's where Picture Yourself comes in and helps care givers feel appreciated. Picture Yourself creator Dr. Jamie Huysman says, "What we ask a care giver to do in Picture Yourself, tell yourself you're powerful. Tell yourself who you are. Tell yourself that you are absolutely a loving person. Tell yourself three, four times a day that you're good. That you're doing everything you can."
