Michaela Powell:
Dr. Lisa, Gabby hates going to the doctor.
Gabby Marx:
That's because every time I go, I get a shot. Dr. Lisa, why do I need so many shots?
Dr. Lisa Thornton:
Okay this is a good one. First, don't panic if you need to get a shot, okay? They hurt, but they don't hurt for very long. And the way that they help you can last for your whole life. Do you know why you get immunizations? So you don't get diseases like measles or mumps or polio. That's why we make sure every child gets them. Now, parents, some kids need to look when they're getting their shots; some kids don't want to look. Some kids want to hold their breath. Every child is a little different, but the important thing to remember is hold still and it's over real quick.
