When planning for your child's next birthday party, don't worry over matching plates and decorations or spend money on store-bought goodies. Kids will only remember one thing: if they had fun. Start by deciding on a party theme with your child. If it's a summer birthday, try a bubble theme. Your kids can make their own bubble blowers and then take them home as a party favor. Or have a contest to see which party guest can blow the biggest bubble. When the party heads indoors, try a baking theme. To avoid a group of messy kids and clothes, start off with apron making. You can find plain aprons at a craft store, and then your party guests can add their own name and paint or glue on buttons and ribbon. When your guests have finished their aprons, it's time for them to have some fun with food. Before the party, bake some individual cupcakes instead of one big cake. That way each child gets just one serving of a dessert and they can each top it with homemade frosting and their favorite fruits. Your child's birthday party should be fun and memorable for their friends, but for you too.
