When someone you love is diagnosed with a disease or medical condition, it's crucial that you become educated so you can cope with the changes in your life, and take the best possible care of your loved one. And that's exactly what Janet did. She's a care giver for her husband who has Parkinson's disease. "It's a long process you go through to find the exact type of Parkinson's that you have. When every new symptom came up, we tried to track it down and do something to help it," says Janet. And once they figured out exactly what the issues were she says, "It was like a revelation. If you understand what you're going through, it is easier to do." Dr. Jamie Huysman says, "Not knowing is an energy block. It creates anxiety. So education has to be the first step no matter what."
