Walgreens Wellness Tour:Health Story
Aired on Lifetime TelevisionSunday, January 6 and February 17, 2008Show 501
Sam Michael just happened to drive by a Walgreens store where a Health Corner tour bus was parked in front. The tour offered several free tests, valued at more than $100. All of his tests were normal and routine until his blood glucose level was checked. Normal is 74 to 102-- Sam's blood glucose was 417. When the nurse asked Sam if he was diabetic, he admitted he didn't know. She said, "Please, today -- in a few minutes -- go to the hospital and get yourself checked." When he went to the emergency room, the doctor informed Sam he was a diabetic – and that his blood glucose level had skyrocketed to 508. "If it hadn't been for the Walgreens Health Corner Wellness Tour, I wouldn't have gone to the emergency room that day. So I could say really, literally, that the Walgreens Health Corner Tour Bus saved my life."
