There's something magical about a father's love for his children. From the moment your eyes first meet to the first time she falls asleep in your arms, and then hearing "da-da" for the first time. Bonding is a beautiful experience for dads, and it's beneficial for creating lifelong relationships based on love, trust and understanding. Start with the moment she's born by simply making eye contact until she responds to your smile. Wear her in a sling, or drape her across your chest as you relax on the couch. Take advantage of some one-on-one moments with baby, like bath time or even a simple diaper change. Babies communicate through touch, so a gentle massage can really help you both connect. And while moms typically like to cuddle and caress, dads often like play time to be a bit more upbeat. So if she's old enough to sit up, bounce her on your knee or give her a light toss in the air. Movement can actually stimulate her muscles and make her stronger. Remember dads, mothers and fathers have different but equally important roles when it comes to parenting. So feel free to be yourself and enjoy all the pleasures of being a dad for a lifetime.
