Has your bedroom gone from restful retreat to manic mayhem? It could be why you and your family are having trouble getting to sleep. It's time to regain control with a slumber makeover for all the bedrooms in your home. Bedrooms should be for sleeping only, so keep all electronics out. Television watching or surfing the Internet should be done in a living room or office. If your favorite show is on past your bedtime, record it or download it in the morning. When you're ready for bed, a dark, quiet space and a comfortable temperature will ensure a peaceful rest. A small night light is fine for a late night trip to the bathroom, but keeping the shades shut will keep you and your family asleep until the alarm goes off. Your mattress is also important, so find one that's comfortable large enough for both of you. A hand-me-down mattress is never a good idea for your child, as it may be already worn and uncomfortable. Invest in a higher quality mattress. It may cost a little more, but a good night's sleep is priceless. Sleep, especially uninterrupted sleep, is so important to a productive day and a great bedroom can help you stay refreshed.
