Dr. Lisa, what kind of mole does a doctor remove?
Dr. Lisa Thornton:
Most people have moles. In fact, everyone does. You don't have to be born with them – sometimes they develop after you're born. When a doctor is worried that a mole is changing or growing, sometimes we'll want to test it and make sure it's not a cancer. Especially as you get older, you really need to keep an eye on those moles because if they change, you'll want to be sure to get a doctor.
