When you're working out, remember your workout should not be painful. The rule of thumb is, if it hurts, stop! Let's use a bicep curl as an example. If you start to feel a sensation in your muscle or even a slight burn, that's good, it's working! But if you feel any pain or sensation in your wrist, elbow or shoulder, stop immediately. It's important not to skip over the warm-up or the cool-down. A warm-up brings up your core temperature and lubricates your joints. You need the cool-down to flush out the lactic acid that leads to soreness the next day. So listen to your body's cues and you can stay injury-free, which is going to keep you so much more consistent with your exercise program. Here's to your health!
