Linda Dano:
Rediscovering Light

Aired on Lifetime Television
Sunday, August 17 and October 5, 2008
Show 520

Emmy®-winning soap star Linda Dano was on Another World for 17 years – but in her personal world the loss of her husband and her mom in a matter of weeks sent her into deep depression. "I literally hit a wall," Dano said, "and I knew this was something that was not going to just go away. It envelops you... it takes over." Her friends became, as it turned out, "support partners." Support partners are those who help friends or loved ones suffering from depression -- they can be people, or even pets. Dano points out that you have to admit you're struggling – only then can you take ownership of depression and truly do something about it. She now supports a program called Support Partners, designed to help people suffering from depression who need support, guidance and a path to recovery.
