When you're getting ready for a family road trip, you have a lot to keep track of. Luggage, plenty of snacks, figuring out who's going to sit where, and, don't forget about first aid! Being ready to handle minor first aid emergencies on the road is something every family should think about. So what do you need to be prepared? Always have a first aid kit with you in the car. It should be in a sturdy, durable container and well stocked with essential first aid items, like bandages, antiseptics, anti-itch creams, tweezers, a cold pack, even surgical gloves. Your on-the-road first aid kit should also contain a variety of over the counter medications for upset stomach, headaches, and diarrhea, for both children and adults. Once you reach your destination, it's also a good idea to have separate, take-along first aid kits you can slip into a backpack or handbag. This is a great idea especially for outdoor activities like hiking, biking, camping and swimming. Whether you're getting ready for a weekend away or a long vacation, make sure you're prepared to handle minor first aid emergencies.
