Kris Freeman: Dr. Lisa's Interview

Aired on Lifetime Television for Women
Sunday, September 10 and December 17
Show 324

"Cross country races can last for hours. How do you manage your diabetes?" Dr. Lisa asks. "I know how various stressors affect my blood sugar. Before the 2006 race in Turin, Italy, I tested 12 times. I use the One Touch Ultra Smart glucose tester which is easy and painless," Kris says. "What is it like day-to-day when you're not training? What is your greatest challenge?" asks Dr. Lisa. "When I'm not training, I know how much food I can eat, because I'm not burning so many calories. The challenge is figuring out how to keep my blood sugar under control while living a normal life. To be successful, you have to take responsibility for your own diabetes."
