Legendary Chicago Cub Ron Santo was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes long before measuring blood sugar was possible. "I didn't want anyone to know I had diabetes. I wanted to prove I could succeed," says Ron. In 1971 at Wrigley Field, Ron finally revealed his struggle. He is now a diabetes spokesman and has raised $50 million through his Walk to Cure Diabetes in Chicago. This year's walk is Sunday, October 8.
