After being rushed to the hospital, six-year-old Kamaal Washington was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Dr. Lisa asks, "In the hospital you were already thinking about helping other kids?" "I was thinking, if someone else got sick, they should know what to do," says Kamaal. So he and his older brother Malcolm wrote the book, Omega Boy Versus Doctor Diabetes. "Do you have a message for kids with diabetes?" asks Dr. Lisa. "You are just like other kids. You just need to manage diabetes. Don't let the disease overcome you. Overcome the disease. Keep testing!" says Kamaal.
