Leeza Gibbons and Dr. Jamie Huysman share the care giver story of a husband and wife, Dave and Linn Woodard, both long distance care givers for their mothers. As difficult as long distance care can be, this couple makes it work. Dave, whose mother is 85, says that he looked for a support system for her by using the web. They email each other regularly and he has just introduced his mother to online banking. Dr. Jamie reminds long distance care givers to steer away from feeling guilty about the distance between you and your loved one. "Communication is vital," he says. And remember to take care of yourself.
