A lot of people use personal trainers to stay motivated, but also it's a terrific way to get started. Personal trainers can also provide individual evaluation and design a safe and effective work out focused on your specific goals. They'll know when you've reached the plateau and change your program so that it stays fresh and challenging. Using a personal trainer can be especially important if you have particular medical conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, obesity or hypertension. Just make sure you find a trainer that has experience working with your specific condition. The cost is usually $15 to more than $100 an hour, with sessions about twice per week, at least in the beginning. Later, you can go to once per month or once per quarter. Keep in mind, not all trainers are created equal, but a good trainer can make your work outs a lot more fun and efficient.
