Dr. Valerie Raskin: Dr. Lisa's Interview

Aired on Lifetime Television
Sunday, February 1 and November 5, 2006
Show 306

"Post partum depression is really much more common than we think, isn't it?" Dr. Lisa asks. "Yes, because there is a feeling of shame, women are afraid to ask for help," says Dr. Raskin. "This is a pity because babies need to have mothers that feel good. It's important for infant development," she adds. "What would you say to someone who is pregnant now? And what is the number one thing for women to know?" asks Dr. Lisa. "Know the signs and symptoms of depression. You're not alone. Get help," advises Dr. Raskin.
