When the Glover family gathered for a family reunion, their mother, Evelyn, who has Alzheimer's disease said, "There's life after diagnosis." "This family's work together is ongoing," says Dr. Jamie. "Every family should have open dialog, and assign roles and responsibilities," notes Leeza. Involving kids in family conferences is her tenth commandment of care giving. Dr. Jamie adds, "It's important to maintain communication skills. Family conferences are vital. Then caregivers feel like they have their feet on the ground."
