Resistance Bands: Fit in a MinuteP>
Aired on Lifetime Television Sunday, February 19 and April 16m 2006 Show 307
Want to tone your muscles but don't have time or money for the gym? Besides aerobics, strength training or resistance work is an important part of any exercise routine. It improves muscle tone, balance, and it keeps your bones strong. But not everybody can afford an expensive pair of weights or to join a health club. Fortunately, because of inexpensive resistance bands, you don't have to. There are many different types of bands which are available in varying degrees of resistance, so you can start easy and work your way up. Because resistance bands are inexpensive, smaller and lighter than most other exercise equipment, they are more convenient and you can take them with you so you can stay fit on the road. As we get older, we naturally lose muscle mass and bone density, which can lead to osteoporosis and crippling falls. Fortunately though, with regular work with resistance bands, we can stay strong and healthy for years to come.
