"Trans fats increase heart disease risk and bad cholesterol because it's artificial and the body doesn't know how to break it down. Trans fat goes by many other names, like partially hydrogenated oil," says New York Times food writer Kim Severson. "To avoid this fat, what should we stay away from?" asks Dr. Lisa. "Packaged cookies, cakes, and fast foods like French fries, fish sticks and chicken nuggets," says Kim. "How do we get away from these foods?" asks Dr. Lisa. "Actually, it's really simple. People really want better taste, and healthy foods are better tasting," says Kim.
