Dr. Jamie Huysman

Dr. Jamie Huysman is a psychologist and board-certified clinical social worker. He understands that it is often difficult for family caregivers to reach out for help or to find resources, so he has taken his experience and partnered with Leeza Gibbons, and created Leeza's Place. As part of The Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation, of which he is executive director and co-founder, Leeza's Place was created to meet the growing needs of those recently diagnosed with a memory disorder, as well as their families. Dr. Huysman believes that a caregiver's stressful challenges, if met with innovation, can be effectively transformed into education, empowerment and energy for their life journeys. His philosophy is that the human spirit is resilient, powerful and dynamic. Change is imminently possible on a mental, medical, and spiritual basis, and his philosophy is reflected in the caregiver programs found at Leeza's Places around the country.
